About
Hey, I'm Ashish Nandan Singh. I am an engineer, reader, and writer with a lifelong inability to leave interesting machinery alone. At work, that usually means frontend platform systems: internal development frameworks, developer foundations, and the runtime architecture that lets product teams build on top of them without having to rediscover the same traps every quarter.
I am also the kind of person who left VS Code for Neovim and then made it part of his personality, which is both a warning and a useful debugging detail. Most of my writing starts with one practical question: how does this thing actually work under the surface?
What I work on
Day to day, I help build and maintain the framework layer other developers use as their starting point for web, infrastructure, and product work. A lot of my recent time has gone into figuring out how microfrontends can work with Next.js: remote components, RSC payloads, shared modules, protected proxying, Shadow DOM isolation, and the messy seams between independently built applications.
The work is less "regular app development" and more research, prototyping, debugging, and shaping platform contracts that other teams can trust. That is the kind of software I like most: the kind where the problem is not fully known until you start pulling it apart.
Outside of work, I am building Fluffy, a tiny React framework for learning how routing, server rendering, and hydration fit together. It is not meant to replace production frameworks. It is my way of taking the machine apart carefully enough that the pieces become teachable.
Why I write
Writing is how I turn vague understanding into something sharper. If an idea took me a while to untangle, I would rather leave behind the map than keep the lesson trapped in my own head.
